With mergers and acquisitions holding strong in healthcare, especially among boutique specialty practices, it’s fair to assume our new name, Oculus Pathology, is the result of just another private equity takeover.
It’s not. We’re the same physician-owned, physician-led pathology practice with the same commitment to helping patients that have been our hallmark for 75 years.
We’ve doubled down on who we are. We are taking the commitment that comes from more than 75 years of service as an anatomic and clinical pathology practice of specialists and sub-specialists to another level. That means rebranding with a look and a name that stands out.
We chose a new brand with vision – literally.
The name Oculus comes from the Latin word for “window,” symbolizing clarity, insight, and vision — essential elements of exceptional pathology. We chose the name because it reflects our role as a vital window into each patient’s health, providing physicians with clear, precise diagnostic insights that guide care decisions. At the same time, Oculus Pathology represents our commitment to innovation. We are always looking ahead, embracing technology, and working in seamless partnership with healthcare teams to deliver faster, smarter, and more connected pathology services.
So, while it might be a good thing to be the new kid in town, that’s not us. We’re the same physician-owned pathology practice and lab that has been serving hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgery centers, and outpatient practices for more than 75 years, with every expectation to intensify our services and presence to operate for the next 75 years and beyond.
