This Lab Week, Oculus Pathology recognizes the laboratory professionals whose expertise underpins timely, accurate, and clinically meaningful diagnoses and who are fundamental to our more than 75-year history as a leading pathology lab
In contemporary pathology, diagnostic excellence does not happen in isolation. It depends on disciplined laboratory operations, technical precision, and close coordination across the diagnostic continuum. At Oculus Pathology, our laboratory professionals are integral to that process. Their work supports the quality of every specimen prepared, every study performed, and every result delivered to the physicians, ASCs, and hospitals and health systems we serve.
As a physician-owned, independent anatomic pathology practice and laboratory, Oculus Pathology has built its model around collaboration, accountability, and subspecialty depth. Since 1948, we have partnered with hospitals, outpatient specialty practices, and surgical centers by combining advanced diagnostic capabilities with a highly responsive, physician-to-physician approach. That standard is sustained every day by laboratory teams whose work makes diagnostic confidence possible.
“Our laboratory professionals are essential to the standard we set for ourselves and for the partners who trust us with their patient cases,” said Matt Thompson, MHSM, CMPE, CEO of Oculus Pathology. “They bring the technical discipline, consistency, and commitment to quality that enable strong pathology practice. Their work is fundamental to our ability to deliver timely answers, support complex clinical decision-making, and serve as a trusted diagnostic partner.”
That contribution is especially important in a pathology practice that partners with specialists on some of the most complex patient diagnoses and treatment planning. Oculus Pathology brings together more than 40 board-certified specialty and subspecialty pathologists, nearly two dozen pathologists’ assistants, and a laboratory platform offering more than 200 diagnostic tests across histology, molecular pathology, cytology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and special stains. Our pathologists and laboratory teams work in concert to support hospitals and physicians with the analytical depth, subspecialty access, and operational efficiency required in modern medicine.
Lab Professionals Week is an opportunity to acknowledge what experienced clinicians already understand: the integrity of a diagnosis is inseparable from the integrity of the laboratory systems and personnel behind it. Accuracy, turnaround time, consultative value, and continuity all depend on the people who execute the work with rigor and consistency every day.
This week, we are proud to recognize the laboratory professionals whose expertise advances the practice of pathology and helps our partners deliver the highest standard of patient care.
From all of us at Oculus Pathology, thank you for the precision, professionalism, and clinical excellence you bring to this work every day.
